BLADE STYLES

CLIP POINT: The spine of a clip-point blade curves concavely or in a straight line right down from its highest point, which allows a quicker, thus deeper puncture upon insertion.

DROP POINT: A drop-point blade features a slow convex-curved drop in the point. This format comes along with a strengthen tip and can be found on a wide array of our products.

DROP POINT UTILITY: A drop-point blade that is ground with a radius leaving a concave shape above the cutting surface. Commonly used in various situations for a variety of purposes.

TANTO: A modified format of Japanese original sword. This design has a high point in-line with the pivot. The front edge meets the bottom edge at an obtuse angel rather than curving commonly found in most conventional blades. A flat grind is applied to the point, leaving it extremely tough, thus super effective in piercing. However, much cutting area is sacrificed as the trade-off for tip strength.

MODIFIED TANTO: A modified tanto blade is superficially similar to its original Japanese version. However, this blade is featured with a more gently curved point and a back edge angled to the point slightly and sharpened for a short distance from the point.

SPEAR POINT: A spear-point blade is a symmetrically pointed blade with a point that is in line with the center line of the blade's long axis. Usually it can go with or without a false edge.

SHEEPS FOOT: This blade shape has no point on the tip and is commonly applied in the emergency rescue blades for the purpose of harmless escape.

BLADE STEELS

8Cr13MoV/8Cr14MoV is a Chinese made medium-carbon, excellent value-priced stainless steel, which features quite similar performance characteristics to Japanese AUS-8 in terms of toughness, edge retention, and wear resistance.

The 8Cr13MoV/8Cr14MoV forged blades have been fully proved by assorted highly successful and well renowned knives, like Spyderco Byrds, Spyderco Persistence, Spyderco Tenacious, as well as Benchmade Vex, Benchmade Pikas. Given the price tag attached to this steel, 8Cr13MoV/8Cr14MoV might not be the first option for those privileged customers, but definitely outperforms most people’s expectations for their everyday use.

BLADE TREATMENT

GRIND

FLAT GROUND: A knife's edge that tapers from the cutting edge all the way to the blade's spine that is ground completely flat without a radius.
